Energy Independence Day – October 18th 2004

EnergyIndependenceDay

One of my first organizing experiences, I was invited to stage an awareness raising event about the need to transition to independent, local, renewable and sustainable sources of energy. Organizations such as Eco-Quartier, Sustainable Concordia, and Vélo Québec came to table and talk about what we could do differently, and we invited people to sign the Charter of Independence from Dirty Energy, which was being signed all over North America on that day. The event was held in the atrium of the Concordia JW McConnell library. About 250 people passed through.
